Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Fix My Swing ("we," "us," "our," or the "Service") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application and website.

1. Short version

We built Fix My Swing to respect your privacy. Your video file and extracted frames stay on your phone — they are never uploaded or stored on our servers. To produce cohort-matched coaching feedback, we send structured pose-landmark coordinates and biomechanical measurements to our cloud AI provider. We collect the absolute minimum data needed to give you swing analysis, and we never sell your data to anyone.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Video and image data

Your swing videos and frames stay on your device. Videos are recorded locally, analyzed locally for pose estimation, and stored only in your device's app storage. We never upload, transmit, or store your video files or extracted frames on our servers.

2.2 Pose and biomechanics data (sent for analysis)

When you request an AI swing analysis, we send the following anonymized structured data to our backend and third-party AI providers:

• Pose landmark coordinates (33 body joint positions per frame, extracted by MediaPipe on your device)
• Biomechanics measurements (spine angle, X-factor, shaft plane, kinematic sequence, hip sway, lead-wrist extension, face-angle estimate, etc.)
• Detected swing flaw classification and scores
• Your self-reported profile (gender, age bracket, skill tier or handicap, dominant hand, primary clubs, optional height bracket and teaching-school preference, optional physical limitations) — used to match your swing against the correct reference cohort
• The club you selected for this swing
• Camera angle used (down-the-line or face-on)
• Per-metric reference annotations (matched cohort label, confidence tier, source IDs from our published reference database) so the AI can cite sources in the coaching text

This data contains no personally identifiable information. It cannot be used to identify you, reconstruct your video, or recognize your face.

2.2a No still-frame uploads

Standard Analysis and Deep Analysis do not upload still frames. The cloud AI receives only the numeric pose, biomechanics, profile, selected club, camera angle, and reference-range data described above.

2.3 Device identifier

We generate a hashed device identifier (SHA-256 of a random UUID stored locally on your device) to enforce free-tier usage limits and subscription entitlements. This identifier is not tied to your Apple ID, Google ID, name, email, or any other personal information.

2.4 Account information

You can use the core swing-analysis features without creating an account. If you choose to sign in with Apple, Google, or another supported provider, we receive the account identifier and email address provided by that provider so we can authenticate you, support account deletion, and connect your access across sessions.

2.5 Subscription information

If you purchase a subscription, Apple (or Google Play) processes the payment. We receive only a confirmation that your subscription is active and the product identifier you purchased — no credit card numbers, no billing addresses, no personal information from Apple or Google.

2.6 What we do NOT collect

• We do not collect your name, phone number, or mailing address unless you voluntarily contact us.
• We do not require an email address for core swing analysis; an email may be collected only if you sign in or contact support.
• We do not track your location.
• We do not use advertising identifiers or tracking cookies.
• We do not integrate third-party advertising networks.
• We do not read your contacts, photos, or calendar.

3. How we use information

• To generate AI-powered swing analysis and coaching feedback
• To enforce free-tier usage limits and paid subscription entitlements
• To detect and prevent abuse (rate limiting)
• To improve the product (aggregated, anonymized usage metrics only)
• To respond to your support requests

4. Third-party services

To provide AI analysis, we share the anonymized pose and biomechanics data described above with the following AI providers:

• DeepSeek — Primary AI provider for standard coaching narrative generation. DeepSeek Privacy Policy
• Anthropic (Claude) — Primary AI provider for Deep Analysis and fallback provider for standard coaching. Anthropic does not train on API inputs per their commercial terms. Anthropic Privacy Policy
• OpenAI (GPT) — Secondary fallback AI provider, used only when the primary providers are temporarily unavailable. OpenAI does not train on API inputs per their commercial terms. OpenAI Privacy Policy

We also use the following infrastructure providers:

• Vercel — Edge hosting for our backend API. Vercel Privacy Policy
• Upstash — Redis database for usage metering. Stores only hashed device IDs and monthly usage counters. Upstash Privacy Policy
• RevenueCat — Subscription management. Receives only your anonymous device identifier and subscription status. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
• Apple App Store / Google Play — Payment processing for subscriptions. They operate under their own privacy policies.

5. Data retention

• Swing videos are stored on your device and deleted when you delete the app or clear its data.
• Pose, biomechanics, and profile data sent to our backend is not persisted beyond the request. It passes through our servers briefly, is forwarded to the AI provider, and the response is returned to you. Nothing swing-related is stored long-term.
• Still frames are not sent during Standard Analysis or Deep Analysis.
• Free-tier usage counters are stored for one month and automatically expire.
• Subscription entitlement data is retained as long as your subscription is active.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of any data we hold about you.
• Delete: Delete a signed-in account directly in the app from Settings > Delete account. This deletes your cloud account data. You can also clear local swing data from Settings, or delete the app from your device to remove all remaining local data.
• Opt out: You can stop using the Service at any time. No data is processed after you uninstall.

7. Children's privacy

Fix My Swing is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly. The current release of the Service requires users to be 18 or older; a junior / parental-consent flow is planned for a future release and is not live today.

8. International users

Fix My Swing is operated from Mexico. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of data to Mexico and the United States, where our infrastructure providers are located. We comply with applicable data protection laws including GDPR (for EU users) and CCPA (for California users).

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent changes. Material changes will be announced in the app.
